Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you on the issue that ……. no, that’s a wrong beginning. The idea is that I’ve been accepted at Columbia University and I don’t know how to tell this to you for my excitment goes beyond any expectation.

I know that I will start a new life, based on my background knowledge, a new life that will be happening in the middle of New York City. Manhattan, here I come!(although I start to be a bit scared of the future

The whole story started about 2 years ago, when I decided to improve my English and prepare the exams slowly. Then, I have had a tour of the Ivies in September this year when I faced the great opportunities/life offered by Columbia University. An underground gym in the middle of Manhattan, tennis courts at the Hudson River combined with a fascinating library and a friendly coach helped me decide upon Columbia. And here I am, after months of hard work, after so many times when I was on the edge of giving up, finally on vacation. I will now have time to practice more, improve my game as I will go there and play tennis for the Lions.

Although I will leave the wonderful team of Olimpia, I will not betray the colours. Columbia Lions wear light blue so that I will probably remember every day a nice moment spent on the courts in Iancului, as there were lots of pretty moments that I will never forget. I hope that I will have there great team mates as I had here, so that we will have fun and push ourselves towards victory.

Finally, I wanted to thank Coach for supporting my application and also all the girls for having great results in the last years as a team. And this is what actually matters. We were a team, acted as a whole and the results were corresponding.

I know that this article might show how scatterbrained I am, but these are my ideas now and I promise that I will write again soon. It is a challenge that I made.

there is something that you won’t have again; even if keep the colours, you will never have the same team mates…..we are unique.. >:D<

Just came back from the hot Miami on Monday evening, waked with snow on tuesday morning :), got to practice with Serj and bang … my mobile started to sing on wednesday evening while I tried to stay focused on traffic. Yes, the snow was my oppponent Ioana was calling me and I thought she has something to ask me about the Santa’s party from next monday, but quicly her voice became extremely happy … and, yes, indeed, congratulations for being accepted to one of the toughest and in the same time best Universities around the globe.
As it is said every road has a beggining and an ending point. She started to be an Olimpia Team Mate which gained through the time trophies and memories, making decisions and sharing respect. It’s nothing more sad when a player like her has to move on,but in the same time I kindly appreciate her will and strenght in life.
It’s also said that a player came to a coach to learn about tennis; for me Ioana was a player from which I learned few things about life.
Thank you Ioana, just great for what’s happening and I wish you all the best.
It was also my pleasure to try to support you both on and off court and if I did it at least at a minimum level …

serj, you are right. i will probably not have the opportunity of playing for a team where both boys and girls can have so much fun together. I will surely miss you all and remember all the nice moments spent together…
