Bogdan ends in the quarterfinal of the Australian Open

Elena Bogdan said good-bye to Melbourne and Australian Open Junior Championships in the quarterfinals of the singles and doubles draws after an injury occurred during the singles match against Laura Robson from Great Britain at the score 36, 52 and 30-0.

Before qualifying into the quarterfinal, Elena beat Maryna Zanevska ( UKR ) in the first round with 61, 62, Isabella Holland ( Aus ) in the second round with 61, 57, 61 and Yana Buchina ( RUS ) after a retirement from medical reasons at 43 and 30-0 in the first set.

Alongside Kristina Mladenovic, Elena managed to play good in doubles too and won against Juan(TPE)/Saenyauthot(Tha) and Borecka(CZE)/Kubicikova(CZE) before withdrawing from the same medical reason.

One week ago Elena participated at the "Optus Nottinhill International", an ITF Juniors Grade I event where she reached the semifinals in the singles draw.

With this results Elena finished the Australian Summer Circuit counting for the world junior rankings and from now on she will focus on playing ITF Women's events.
