Buzarnescu/Olaru and Gae/Hancu in the quarterfinals of the GDF Suez

Mihaela Buzarnescu/Raluca Olaru and Diana Gae/Bianca Hincu managed to pass through the secound round of the doubles draw in Bucharest in the GDF Suez Open Romania Event, beating the teams Simona Matei/Penny Corrin with 62, 62 and Alexandra Damaschin/Karla Mraz with 63, 61.

Andreea Iova/Camelia Hristea and Elena Bogdan/Diana Enache lost their first round encounters against Andrea Hlavackova/Renata Voracova and Julia Georges/Sandra Klemenshits in straight sets.

In the doubles quarterfinal both Olimpia Teams lost the matches: Mihaela Buzarnescu/Raluca Olaru from Andrea Hlavackova/Renata Voracova with 16, 26, while Diana Gae/Bianca Hincu lost from Stephanie Dubois/Stephanie Foretz with 26, 46.

As a result of Mihaela Buzarnescu's elimination in the second round from Julia Georges the participation of the Olimpia players in this international tennis event and in the same time the biggest ever held in Romania has ceased. We would like to congratulate every player who competed in this event with the traditional "Bravo": Bravo Mihaela Buzarnescu, Bravo Raluca Olaru, Bravo Elena Bogdan, Bravo Bianca Hincu, Bravo Diana Gae, Bravo Camelia Hristea, Bravo Andreea Iova, Bravo Veronica Popovici.
