Olaru leaves Bogota in quarterfinals

[21 February 2009]

Raluca Olaru selected Bogota to be her next stop after an hesitant start of the year, althought she participated in the major events like Australian Open and Gaz de France Suez WTA events and of course the matches alongside Fed Cup Team. The results weren't so bad, but she wanted more from her own game, so after few matches on the columbian clay her wishes seems to be satisfied.

Raluca won the first round in Bogota at the $220.000 WTA event after a tough match against the eight seed Lino Mourdes Dominguez from Spain with the final score: 57, 64, 76(3). In the second round she passed Ani Maret from Estonia in straight sets with 64, 62 being close from a semifinal under the WTA Circuit.

After two sets Raluca had to recognize the defeat in front of Patricia Mayr from Austria, ending this beautiful chapter and in the same time preparing for the next tournament in Acapulco, Mexico.
