Camelia Hristea played the doubles final in $10,000 Sandanski 2009 in the same day with the singles quarterfinal. Alongside Radu Alice lost the final act in straight sets, the same result being posted after the singles match. She was nervous, but she tried to arrive in Bucharest fast for playing the National Junior Team Championships in the next day where in the end the gladness was high.
Between matches, trips and emotions, Camelia took a short break for answering to our questions:
Olimpia Tenis: What was the reason of the hesitant start of the year Camelia?
Camelia Hristea: Yes, it can be said that I had a clumsy start of the year. I think there was more than one reason including confidence on my game, but step by step I passed on.
Olimpia Tenis: After the performances obtained in the National Individual Championships ( three finals ) you played few futures events with very good results. What has changed?
Camelia Hristea: I started to feel better on the court, to enjoy playing, I started to gain confidence and believe again; I think everyone of us has worse periods, but the most important thing is to move further on as quick as possible.
Olimpia Tenis: Did you manage to accomplish your goals or there are things to improve? Camelia Hristea: One of them is done, but not all. Every time there is space for improving and I hope that in the future I will be satisfied of me and what I am doing.
Olimpia Tenis: How is Camelia in and out the tennis court?
Camelia Hristea: Camelia outside the tennis court is a totally different girl. I mean that I have friends with who are helping each over, we are talking a lot of things, everything is ok, but when I am walking on the court I forgot all and I am doing my best for winning.
Olimpia Tenis: What advice you will give to a young tennis player if you have been asked? Camelia Hristea: Fight, work for your wishes, nothing is impossible!
Olimpia Tenis: What will be the nicest moment of this year so far?
Camelia Hristea: Hmm! Pleasant moments there was during the National Individual Championship where I obtained three medals, enjoying the atmosphere with three matches played per day for a week. Other moments were at the latest futures events where I was alone and I made my best results until that point. And in Arad where my best friend Andreea Iova stood at my matches, I felt so good on the court; even I had few relaxing moments. She encouraged me in the tough moments and made me not feeling alone. Thanks' a lot!
Olimpia Tenis: And the unpleasant one?
Camelia Hristea: I think the one lived in Bosnia where I was very disappointed by a person, especially because she was the only Romanian other there, but I hope I learned something :)
Olimpia Tenis: Thank you Camelia and good luck!
Camelia Hristea: Thank you too.
